Britney Responds To Critics

Her partying ways have been splashed on tabloid covers the world over. Her questionable behavior has been the topic of morning talk shows, entertainment-magazine shows... her headlines have even made headlines. No matter where you go it is seemingly impossible to escape Britney-capades: Britney Fed-Ex's hubby, Britney's new BFF Paris Hilton, Britney parties without panties (Rosie O'Donnell even offered to "adopt" her and provide her with unlimited underwear), Britney gambles with Mario, Britney hurts her chances of getting full custody of kids... and on and on.

Now Britney Spears is answering back. The pop princess recently issued a response to those who've said she's been partying too hard since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline after two years of marriage.

"It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. It's also been 2 years since I've even celebrated my birthday," Spears, writes on her website.

The singer was followed by a massive pack of paparazzi as she marked her 25th birthday with a bash at Mr. Chow's restaurant in Beverly Hills. She was seen holding hands with two male friends (including her former manager), but noticeably missing from the photos were her new BFFs Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. As I mentioned earlier the singer has been spotted out partying with Hilton and Lohan until the wee hours of the morning (one photographer caught Spears asleep in Hilton's vehicle at 6 a.m.). Add to that numerous revealing photographs of her getting out of vehicles without undergarments that have circulated online.

To that Spears offers this explanation:

"Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a bit too far," Spears writes. "Anyway, thank God for Victoria Secrets' new underwear line! I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me."

Perhaps, the "new" Brit will take the advice of her parents (her father recently told TV's "Extra" that he advised her daughter to stay home more) and her attorney, who has reportedly told her to tone down her behavior for the sake of her custody battle.
