Another Hollywood Couple Expecting a Double Blessing

Move over Marcia, Angelina and J-Lo there's a new big mama in Tinseltown.

Well, getting big anyway.

Heck, given that she is a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model she may end up looking like Nicole Kidman at nine months. Still, I'm sure she will be thrilled no matter how she appears in November.

By then actress Rebecca Romijn and her husband, Jerry O'Connell will have their hands full... with twin daughters.

It's true; according to the couple's rep, the famous pair, who just celebrated their first wedding anniversary two weeks ago, is expecting twin girls. The babies are reportedly due this winter.

The baby news comes a little more than a week after 34-year-old O'Connell told reporters that he and his gorgeous wife were "trying to get pregnant."

Hmm... apparently they succeeded.

I'm all for celebrities trying to protect their privacy, but at what point is a lie a lie?

According to reports, the 35-year-old "Ugly Betty" actress is four months along and is in "great health."

However, she must not have been gung-ho about sharing the news that she's about to be on double diaper duty because less than a month ago she told Self magazine that she hoped to be "lucky enough" to have kids.

That's not so bad. Not nearly as questionable as the comment O'Connell made to PEOPLE magazine last week regarding his desire to have a family.

"It would be amazing if it happened," the actor said, adding that practicing has been "a lot of fun."

I suppose the handsome couple could have handled their "wonderful" news in a manner that would have really driven fans nuts. Let's all be thankful that they didn't take a page from the Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony pregnancy guide and repeatedly deny the obvious (you'll recall the superstar couple didn't acknowledge J-Lo's pregnancy until she was nearly six months along).

Do you care if a star fibs about being pregnant? What about if she is in her third trimester?

What if they were to tell everyone and then miscarry? That would be awful!! That's something I, as a regular woman, think about, I'm sure they do too. I can understand waiting a while, just to be sure.

I'm with you mrmnmom, but in this one particular case, perhaps it would have been best to say nothing and wait to make the official announcement today. That way you don't have people like me wondering why you would say that you wanted to get pregnant when you were already 4 months along with twins.

Okay girls your priorities and thinking on this are all backwards. The more important question is what will they do with Rebecca's character 'Alex' on Ugly Betty? LOL

LOL Valorie--good question. I heard she just told producers so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
