Ann Curry Leaving “TODAY?”

Rumors are swirling that Ann Curry is leaving “TODAY.” She served as the news anchor on the show from March 1997 until last June then moved into the co-anchor position after Meredith Vieira left. But, ratings are down. “TODAY” once had 780,000 more viewers than “Good Morning America” but in the last year, that has disintegrated to a mere 13,000 viewers in May 2012. It returned to a 332,000 viewer lead during the first week of June, but it seems as if the damage has been done. And, what happens when ratings are down? All eyes turn to the new … Continue reading

Octo-Mom Gains a New Home; Loses Publicist

Now that she’s pimped herself out to as many “entertainment” TV shows as possible, Octo-mom Nadya Suleman has enough money to purchase a new house. (Or at least enough for a sizable down payment.) More on the Suleman’s new residential daycare in a bit. Right now I’m more interested in the reason why Nadya’s publicist dumped her like a ton of bricks. According to reports, Victor Munoz quit Suleman three days ago claiming that the mother of 14 is “nuts” and “greedy.” “It just got to be too much,” Munoz told Us Weekly. “It’s pretty much a free for all … Continue reading

What Happens When Your Own Mother Thinks You’re an Abomination

Ask Nadya Suleman. The California woman who used fertility treatment to give birth to octuplets should be celebrating the fact that her eight newborns are alive and flourishing, but instead she’s dealing with hundreds of death threats, seething public ridicule and the paparazzi. Oh, and apparently her own mother doesn’t think much of her either. Earlier this week Angela Suleman told an online news site that what her daughter has done to become a single mother of 14 is “unconscionable.” Nadya’s mom went on to say that she questions how her unemployed daughter, who already has six children, will cope … Continue reading

Nadya Suleman’s Website

“Oh no she isn’t!” was the first thing I thought today when I read the CNN headline “Octuplets’ mom seeks online donations.” Nadya Suleman has set up a web site for donations for her new octuplets. The site offered three places where you could click to make a donation. In her first interview, Nadya said she loved her babies “unconditionally, accepting them unconditionally, everything I do. I’ll stop my life for them and be present with them and hold them and be with them. And how many parents do that? Oh, now my head is hurting. I have been a … Continue reading

Battle of the Network Morning Shows: Mother of Octuplets vs. Hero Pilot

In this corner, we have a single mother with 14 children under the age of eight, who set the Internet on fire with her decision to have as many children at one time as humanly possible. And in this corner, we have a hero pilot, who glided a jet into the Hudson River and saved more than 150 lives, in what can only be described as a miracle. On Monday morning the two go head-to-head in a battle of the network morning shows. NBC’s Ann Curry landed the first interview with Nadya Suleman, the California woman who gave birth to … Continue reading

Ann Curry Lands First Interview with Mother of Octuplets

How did she do it? How did Ann Curry of NBC’s Today show beat out Oprah, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, and Barbara Walters to land the interview of the year? Talk about a “get.” According to Nadya Suleman’s publicist (yes, she already has a publicist and by the end of the month I’m sure she’ll also have a TV agent, a book agent, and an entire entourage of handlers) the 33-year-old mother of eight newborns sat down with Curry this morning. Reports say that Suleman left a Southern California hospital this morning and headed for her first interview with the … Continue reading
