Hurricane Sandy Relief Continues to Pour In

Hurricane Sandy happened almost a month ago, but the devastation it left in its path will take a long time to clean up. There are still about 120,000 people without power in New York and New Jersey, but that also includes homes there were too damaged to have power anyhow. If anything good came from this, it is the generosity of Americans. Some physically went to damaged areas while others gave what they could to help the victims. I already wrote about celebrities that gave to Hurricane Sandy relief, but it is worthy to note that Lady Gaga donated $1 … Continue reading

Celebs React to Dick Clark’s Death – Part 2

It almost seems as if every celebrity in the world either knew Dick Clark or was influence by him. Here’s a few more reactions to his death: I don’t think Snoop Dogg ever appeared on “American Bandstand,” but he had nothing but love for Dick Clark, tweeting, “REST IN PEACE to the DICK CLARK!! U were pioneer n a good man!! Thank u sir.” Hip hop mogul Russell Simmons said, “Dick Clark was eternally young. No matter what culturally phenomenon was happening, he always embraced it. RIP…” The Jonas Brothers, who aren’t even old enough to have lived through Dick … Continue reading

Andy Dick – How Much Is Too Much?

Some of the greatest comic geniuses are often troubled people. Many of them needed the attention comedy gave them to make up for something else they lacked in their childhoods. Many have turned to alcohol and drugs to help silence their demons. So what is up with Andy Dick? I must admit, sometimes I do find him quite funny. But, most of the time, he is so over the top; it is more uncomfortable than funny to watch him. Case in point – he was recently forcibly removed from the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show. He was on the same night … Continue reading

All Jimmy All The Time

If you are a fan of Jimmy Kimmel I have good news for you. If you can’t stand the guy then I would suggest staying away from your TV for a while. And if have no clue who Jimmy Kimmel is you probably will by the end of the month. The late night talk show host will be saturating the airwaves beginning next week. In a move that has never been executed by an entertainer, Kimmel is going bicoastal. He’s keeping his gig as host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in Los Angeles but will also be filling in for … Continue reading

Juicy Hollywood Tidbits – July 24, 2007

Jon Lovitz Warns Andy Dick You probably know of Andy Dick’s woes with drugs. Apparently, that helped to ruin his friendship with Jon Lovitz. Last week at the Hollywood comedy club The Laugh Factory, Lovitz and Dick clashed and it was anything but funny. The two had a falling out over 10 years ago when Lovitz accused Dick of introducing mutual pal Phil Hartman’s wife to cocaine again. It was only a few months later that she killed Phil then shot herself. Lovitz said that a year ago, Dick threatened his life in a restaurant, saying, “I put the Phil … Continue reading

Pop Culture Potpourri: No More DNA Doubts, No More Appendix, and More

NO MORE DNA DOUBTS The facts don’t lie. The results of the DNA test imposed upon Eddie Murphy are in, and according to PEOPLE magazine, the actor is indeed the father of Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown’s 2-month-old daughter. You’ll recall Libby previously wrote about the hoopla surrounding the paternity of Brown’s baby. The results came back yesterday and according to sources: “The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent Eddie’s.” Brown gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3 and immediately contended that Murphy was the child’s father, but in May Murphy refused to take a paternity test and reportedly … Continue reading

Well, it certainly is not a first in the rock music world, but 47-year-old Richie Sambora, guitarist for Bon Jovi, has entered an undisclosed treatment facility (read “rehab”) in Los Angeles. It was not disclosed what type of treatment Sambora would be receiving from the facility. However, Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform on the “Today” show on June 19th and the show’s executive producer Jim Bell said he would appear with the band. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968)

One of the most beloved children’s movies of all time, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” is a fanciful tale based on the novel by Ian Fleming, which was published in 1964. Our main character is Caractacus Potts, played by Dick Van Dyke. Potts is a widower, struggling to raise his two imaginative children on his own. However, they come by their imaginations honestly – Potts is an inventor, and his creations are anything but ordinary. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a broken down race car that once held a place of honor as a three-time Grand Prix winner. Jeremy and Jemima … Continue reading

NBA’s Tim Hardaway – Some People Just Never Learn

Well, it had happened again. NBA player Tim Hardaway went on the radio to say that he “hated gay people.” Apparently, Tim hasn’t been keeping up with the whole “Grey’s Anatomy”/gay scandal. Hump, he should read our blogs! Anyhow, last Tuesday, Tim went to a Miami radio station for an interview. Show host Dan Le Batard asked Hardaway how he felt about former NBA player John Amaechi announcing his homosexuality. Amaechi made the announcement right before the release of his new autobiography, Man in the Middle. He is the first NBA player to publicly admit to being homosexual. After Le … Continue reading
