A Baby Boy For Brady and Moynahan

At least he brought flowers...

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was seen entering a L.A. hospital yesterday carrying a massive bouquet of flowers. A couple hours later the announcement came that actress Bridget Moynahan (Brady's ex-girlfriend) had given birth to a baby boy.

"Mother and baby are doing well," Moynahan's publicist told reporters.

For those of you who haven't been following the drama surrounding this pregnancy here's a quick synopsis. The 36-year-old stunning model-turned-actress split from the NFL quarterback last December after a 3-year relationship. Two months later she announced she was pregnant with his baby. By then Brady had already hooked up with another model-super, uber-model Gisele Bundchen (whom he is still dating).

Earlier this year there were reports that things between Moynahan and Brady were frosty at best (gee, I wonder why). But, sometime in June the two began text messaging each other and Brady starting talking publicly about the joys of impending fatherhood. By July, the paparazzi went into overdrive following Moynahan's every move waiting for her to pop. There were even false reports made that Moynahan was going to be induced on July 20th (Gisele Bundchen's birthday) so Brady would be in a hospital cooing over his new baby in California rather than showering Bundchen with gifts in New York.

That never happened. In fact, talk of Brady missing his child's birth made headlines in Boston when Moynahan didn't enter the hospital on her due date. (The couple's new son was reportedly more than 10 days overdue.)

So the question the media is asking is whether or not Brady made it to L.A. from Boston to witness the delivery in person. A spokesperson for the Patriots confirmed that Brady didn't show up for practice Wednesday and added that he didn't know when the star athlete would rejoin the team. Also, there's been no word on whether Brady would play in the Patriots' third exhibition game Friday against the Carolina Panthers. Earlier this week Brady told reporters that he wanted to take off a few days to bond with his new baby.

Frankly, my question wouldn't be did Brady make it in time for the birth. It would be, how are he and Moynahan planning to work out a co-parenting plan given their current situation. Will they now join the ranks of Matt Leinhart and Brynn Cameron in terms of battling over baby? Or, will Brady pull an Eddie Murphy and fork over the child support and opt for Moynahan to raise their son? I'm sure Gisele is pulling for the latter.
